The 5 W’s and 1 H of Elder Law: A Lesson from the Inside Out

Lessons in Elder Law. It’s what we do.

Lawyers are wordy. We think about each word, each letter, each punctuation mark of anything we write. So, while I could compose a treatise on Elder Law, it is with great restraint that I am brief and offer a simplified introduction to the world of Elder Law.

Who

At Disability Planning Partners, we are attorneys who want to work with individuals and families to find solutions for loved ones who are aging or who have any type of disability.

What

We are skilled in the following areas: estate planning, asset protection, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Veterans Benefits, long term health care insurance (LTC), guardianship, special needs trusts and disability planning, probate, trust administration, elder abuse and elder exploitation, nursing homes and patient rights, retirement benefits, health law, and mental health law.

Why

We can anticipate problems associated with aging and disability. We help with early planning ideas so that problems are avoided. When problems may not be avoidable, we help to guide you to personalized solutions.

When

Consulting is always important at any time a problem is anticipated. We recommend a financial evaluation before retirement or before your 65th birthday. This gives us an opportunity to screen for asset preservation options for you.

Where

Our office is in Hartford, right off of the highway, with free and ample parking. Our space is cozy and private. But, if you aren’t able to come to us, we’ll come to you!

How

We create a space where we can have difficult conversations about elder and disability planning without judgment or time limits. We want to hear your story; we want you to know we will accommodate your every need.

All of our staff have personal experience with elders and loved ones with disabilities. This gives us the compassion and a keen insight into all of the daily challenges one may encounter.

We’re Here to Help

If you have questions about your estate plans or have had a life change similar to one described above, please contact our offices or call us at 860-238-0044 to talk about how we can help.
