The Legal Tools that are Available When an Individual with a Disability turns 18

I recently had the pleasure of presenting for PATH Parent to Parent/Family Voices of Connecticut, a non-profit organization that provides information and support to families who have a child with developmental or other health-related needs.

PATH asked me to speak about the legal decision-making tools that are available when an individual with a disability turns 18.

I spoke about the spectrum of planning options, including Advance Directives, Power of Attorneys, Supported Decision Making Agreements, and Conservatorship/Guardianship.

If you are planning for a loved one who is nearing the age of 18, it is a useful presentation to watch.  If you have any questions, please contact our office directly.
